riginally, the Florida House Inn Bed and Breakfast, located on Amelia Island near Jacksonville Florida, had 25 rooms and no indoor plumbing. Without sacrificing its historic charm, we now offer 22 two comfortable bedrooms, which all with private baths. Ten rooms have working fireplaces, two have old-fashioned claw-footed tubs and six have large Jacuzzi tubs. All accommodations in our Amelia Island Hotel are air-conditioned and offer access to our spacious porches, perfect for rocking and relaxing.

Your room will have a nostalgic blend of antiques and period pieces selected with your comfort in mind. Romantic four-poster beds, quaint iron beds, quilts and handmade rugs are just a few of the unique touches that await you. The only worldly intrusions are a television and telephone in each room, but many of our guests happily ignore both.

Our hotel has a number of common areas for the enjoyment of all guests. This room has queen bed with a Cuban décor in honor of Jose Marti who stayed in this room for several weeks while planning Cuba’s revolution against Spain.  A monument in front of the inn is dedicated to his stay at the Florida House in the early 1890’s.  An old fashioned oak table that would have held a bowl and pitcher (before indoor plumbing) now holds the sink. The bathroom has a full sized tiled shower. This room is on the second floor, and has a large porch just outside the door with a view of the downtown area.  This is the room in our selection that has a fireplace.  With this room guests are provided one complimentary 2-person rental scooter to tour the island with for up to 4 hours per day.

The bathroom is spacious and has a separate shower and Jacuzzi tub.  This is not a fancy room but is a very economical room if you need lodging for multiple guests.  Rate is for up to 4 persons. An up charge of $20/night per additional person applies.  Extended rates do not include breakfast or daily housekeeping service. With this room guests are provided two complimentary 2-person rental scooters to tour the island with for up to 4 hours per day.  With six guests 3 scooters are provided for 3 hours.

RESERVATIONS

You can make reservations by phone by calling us at 904-261-3300 locally or long distance at. 800-258-3301. You can also reserve directly on-line by going to the “CHECK AVAILABILITY” icon below. We generally require a two night minimum stay on the weekend although we sometimes make exceptions. A deposit equal to your first night stay will be charged to your credit card to guarantee your room when you make your reservation. The balance will be charged at check-in.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We have a 14 day cancellation policy for general hotel stays. It is 30 days for special events such as Concourse D’Elegance, Shrimp Festival, and 45 days for wedding and group related functions. You are responsible for all charges if you cancel within the specified days prior to your arrival unless we are able to re-rent your room of which we will make every effort to do. On all refundable funds a 10% charge is held for credit chard processing fees.
